Webcomics.com (http://www NULL.webcomics NULL.com/home/2010/4/22/the-facebook-like-button NULL.html) told us how to add a Facebook Like button to our web pages, but what if you wanted to display how many people liked you without using their default, and in my opinion, very boring template?
Hongkiat.com (http://www NULL.hongkiat NULL.com) has a quick tutorial on how to display the number of fans you have in text (http://www NULL.hongkiat NULL.com/blog/how-to-display-facebook-fan-count-in-text/). Because it’s outputting in text and not locked into a plugin, you can style it to look however you want with CSS, javascript, or whatever else you happen to use. You do need to move a couple files and code snippits around, but it’s mostly copy and paste so it’s not a hard technique to wrap your head around. How you use it after that is up to you.
